"I'm Buck with Porter Rents and Porter Group out of the United States. We installed a Hydropad system 6-8 months ago to help us keep our equipment clean. Our equipment ranges from 8,000 lbs all the way up to 100,000 lbs. We put everything on the Hydropad, washing it with the Hydro system and recycle the water. We continue to demuck it and keep it clean, then wash the machinery off.

We run a demucking wand off the main pump, which is also used for cleaning the clean-out tray, and that alone has enabled us to keep the system running without having to spend the additional money to have the recycling system on and having to clean at a regular interval.

Believe it or not, we've actually been running here for about 6 months or so, and we haven't cleaned out the catch basin. It is due, we will be cleaning it out shortly, but when you only have to clean out your system once every six months, it keeps your cost of ownership down, and that's really what we look for.

We've taken the Hydropad system as sold. 3 sections, 24 feet long, 20 feet wide, so we got their bigger pads. The heavy-duty ramp system allows track machines to come up. You'll also see 1-inch thick American steel plates that allow us to bring in large dozers without damaging the waffles. It allows the water to continuously drain to one side, everything works appropriately, but it also allows us to bring steel tracks onto the surface."
